Erik's Concerto Night

Erik in a tux! Eastmont Middle School held their first-ever "Concerto Night" last night (5/3/2006) and the opening group was a 9-piece group consisting of two bassoons, 2 (?) french horns, 2 clarinets, 2 oboes (Erik and his oboe teacher), and 1 flute (recruited from Jordan High). They played one piece, and it sounded great! Erik needed to get some 'concert black' attire for the event - and he lobbied for a tux. We thought we'd at least look into it, so Barb did some calling around and found a tux rental place that sells used tux 'pieces'. We stopped by and found a nice black jacket, 'wing tip collar' shirt ($12!), shiney shoes ($10!) and a bow tie. Erik was all smiles - and rightly so: he's one sharp-looking kid! More pictures are on our flickr site.
