Bryce Canyon, June 2006

Bruce, Barbara, Chelsea, Sam, Jessica, and Rachel camped at Bryce Canyon National Park from Thursday, June 22 to Saturday, June 24th. We went down so that Bruce could participate in the 6th Annual Bryce Canyon Astronomy Festival. Unfortunately, however, Bruce's telescope had a mechanical failure which rendered it unuseable the two nights we were there. But, he went around, helping others where he could and taking advantage of the opportunity to look through many of the 30-40 telescopes (maybe more) that were all set up. The sky was extremely dark, and the stars were incredibly beautiful! We also spent time during the day to do some sightseeing and some hiking (Sam and Jessica did the most hiking, and also got in a mountain bike ride in Red Canyon on Saturday). Rachel is getting bigger and cuter every day, and handled camping quite well.
