Autumn Leaves at Brighton

On Friday, 10/3/2008, Barbara and I took Grandma and Grandpa on a ride up Big Cottonwood canyon to see some fall leaves. (We had hoped that Jessica, Rachel, and Andrew could join us, but they weren't feeling very well.) We picked up sandwiches at Quizno's at the bottom of the canyon and had a "picnic" at Silver Lake in the Brighton area. Unfortunately, it was windy and rather cool. (Actually, it was quite *cold* when the wind blew!) We bundled up G&G in some extra coats that we took "just in case", and we walked around Silver Lake. (Well, Grandma "rolled" most of the way around the lake since she had her wheelchair!) We caught the leaves just right - the quaking aspens were a brilliant yellow at the top of the canyon. Unfortunately, it was also overcast - but Jessica's helping to photoshop some blue sky in!! (See the top photo.)
